Track Name: Happy Trails
Chords:
A D E A

We jump in the Honda and cruise from the city where the sun's so bright
And the surf on the West where guitars go rocking on all the night
We drive through the Arizona rocks to that sun-baked canyon's heights
And we see all the cacti and trees under red and purpley skies

<chorus>
And I love love love love love the cities, all the places that we want to come
And I love love love love love the cities, all the places that we might belong
And I love love love love love the cities, all the places that we're passing through
And I love love love love love the cities, that I want to go and visit with you

We stop by the city in the heart where Lyndon Johnson once strolled
Through the grass and the fields that yield all the spiders in the dirt below
We press to the city in the south with the crawdads and jazz so fine
And smoke on the crowded rooftops with the beards and ladies and wine

<chorus>

We head to the midwest city with the towers in the windy air-
And we eat up the steaks by the lake at the summer's musical fair
We stop by the city in the east with the boats afloat in the bay
And scarf up the fries and the pies from the booth in the park in May

<chorus>
Track Name: Cheshire Smile
Chords:
Am D Am D Am D G E (repeat throughout)

Well Joe's looking good, cheshire smile
And the grey suit to match- silky guile
And the hat's all in place, fedora style
Then he packs that sax in the case for a while (and now a-)
Joe's stepping out, New Orleans twilight
He's the king of the street, strutting mighty
When he gets to the club, it's foxy grimy
Then he rolls up a dub to the beat so fine-

<chorus>
He wails! And he wails! And he wails! And he wails!
And he wails! And he wails! And he wails! And he wails!

(And Joe is wailing, it's a jam that you have never seen
He plays the sax and it's a rodeo that's so serene
And all the addicts in the club are now a-jazzing fiends
That cheshire smile, sways to the rhythm, and a-)

Joe's waking up, Thursday morning
Clock's abuzz in his ear, like a hornet
And he shifts back in gear, works a calling
The sun is burning- morale's a falling!
Joe's digging holes, back's a hurting
In his ripped overalls, and the boss is lurking
Till the job's done at six, Joe is working-
Sweaty bandana, damn Louisiana!

<chorus>

Joe's dusting off, feeling tired
But he can't go to sleep, for a while
Cause the sax in his room, that he requires-
The crowd is waiting for that cheshire smile!

<chorus> x 2
Track Name: Sunny Guns
Chords:
A C G D (repeat throughout)

Sunny guns and bloody rocks
Everyday it's Wednesday
I climb through all the heat
I trudge those mountain rocks while my forehead sweat is dripping to my feet
I drag a hundred pounds
And a thousand rounds
And this valley is my home
Will they come for me today?
Can never clearly say, but I won't take them alone.

Popping pills to sleep at night
I don't jerk awake from inconvenient spiders
These firefights and bright lights
Fighting nights are actually desired
My family's comradery jokes next to me
Can I conceive
This lost and found on hallowed ground (or sacred)?
Do I want to leave?

And the kids they ran away from me
As I gave a wooden eulogy
For my brother in his buried luxury
Don't know if they'll come back to me
To a picnic by a rotted tree
And do I even want a family?

And the kids they ran away
And the kids they ran away
Track Name: Arkansas Creek
Chords:

Saxophone Chorus-
Am

Verses-
Am C G Am
Am C G Am
Am C G F
Am C G E Am

By the side of the creek with a whiskey flask
I held that piece of paper I expected to sign
And with recruiter's handshake, and Dad's old rasp
My ten-year-old self again had entered my mind
Greg and I played war with Dad's old uniform
Before he'd call me into dinner with his bugle horn
All these things had mixed my head confusedly
That day I lost myself, down at Arkansas Creek

Well Greg and I grew up from a similar cloth
We knew that G.I. Joe was a religion indeed
And from the jungley sermons that our dads both taught
The excitement was my future and color and creed
But did it change my plans that day on Highway 3?
The road erupted to a battlefield so violently
Remembering the crash and Greg was screaming to me
I held that paper in hand down at Arkansas Creek

My first battle was a different one than I had thought
The flesh and blood I saw that day was lacking white and blue
And I knew I was converted when upon that spot
I threw that paper into the creek my father knew
I came home to tell him later on that day
But then he tightened up his shoulders and he looked away
His stories and my friend were spinning over me
When I restarted my life, down at Arkansas Creek.
Track Name: Neighborhood Watch (outerspace version)
Chords:
D C G A (repeat throughout)

I know what the neighbors say
And what they do, and how they're feeling
I know how their tricky smiles
And winking eyes, just leave me reeling
This time I'm the quiet guy
Just watch me fry in this sanctuary
And roll down the blinds to see
And try to flee from these missionaries!

<chorus>
Hey, heeeeeeaaaaay- coming out to get it now!
Oh, ooooooh, oh no- nothing's gonna let it down
Hey, heeeeeeaaaaay- coming out to get it now!
Oh, ooooooh, oh no- nothing's gonna let it down

I'm taking the pills prescribed
And I'm alive, so they must be working
But the neighbors keep watching me
Please set me free from their constant lurking
That spotlight, it sears my eyes
I'm a little guy, and I see completely
The neighbors in cheap disguise
And it's no surprise, that they talk so sweetly!

<chorus>
Track Name: Gold Sign
Chords:
D E D E D G
C D E

She's got a gold sign, with her name in black
She's got a gold sign, you're gonna have to take a number
And that gold sign, when you're walking past
You keep your distance from outside- you know she's gonna bring the thunder!

Martini lunches, and a driver with a cap on
You know you've really made it- when you get a gold sign!
And hurling diatribes, she yells into her cell phone
You know she's got a gold, she's got a gold sign- you don't have a gold sign!
Track Name: Down to the Water
Chords:
E D G Bm E

Strutting/
Down to the water.
Incomprehensible speech.

You mosey/
Down to the river
And deny every thought you don't need.

Water/
Pushing against your moving mind.
You see the black and green,
In every scene
And you think you shine

Currents/
Against your judgment every day.
But when you want to see,
Fantastically,
You blow it away.

Limping/
Down to the water.
For a history lesson today.

You hobble/
Down to the river.
Then you stray and you play and you pay!

Water/
Pushing against your moving mind.
You see the black and green,
In every scene
And you think you shine

Currents/
Against your judgment every day.
But when you want to see,
Fantastically,
You blow it away.
Track Name: ¡Viva Libertidad!
Chords:
Verses- Am C G D (x 4)
Chorus- Am E C D (x 4)

Solo tengo una vida, debo tratar de las mejores, por que no
Todos somas personas, y las personas deben ser digno
Yo no solo quiere, respirar quiero sentirme vivo

Track Name: The Whiskey Sea (live)
Chords:
G C G C G D
G C G C G D G

This morning I scrubbed whiskey stains, and popped a pill for the whiskey pain,
And I'm still smarting from the shame, no more whiskey nights for me!
I showered and I scrubbed my back, and brushed my teeth, they'll cut me slack,
And shaved my face so fresh and clean, I braved the whiskey sea!

<chorus>
But when the evening comes, it's whiskey once again,
And I call my whiskey friends, and I saaay, cause I gotta-
"Just one more whiskey dance, to wet our beaks, let's take the chance,
And laugh with all these whiskey fiends, let's sail the whiskey sea!"

Eating lunch, and I work a bit, then fall into a laughing fit,
About last night's best whiskey wit, the brilliance it brings!
But then I start to wince a tad, remembering behavior bad
I certainly won't do that again, when I brave the whiskey sea!

<chorus>

Leaving work, and I see out there, a whiskey friend with a whiskey stare,
And he says to me, so pleasantly, "Still hurting from last night!
But my day was long, would it be so wrong, to join me in a whiskey?"
Maybe just a single whiskey wouldn't be so bad tonight!

<chorus>
Track Name: Death Rattle
E A B7 (x2)
Waiting for the night, when your work is done
Waiting for the night, in that Arizona sun

E G Am D (x2)
Nobody's here to laugh
Nobody's here to care
Nobody's here to clap
Nobody's here to share

Waiting for the night, when the meal is through
Waiting for the evening, with those Tucson desert blues

Nobody's here to love
Nobody's here to be
Nobody's here to shove
Someone that's just like me

Waiting for the sleep now, with your understated jive
Rubbing on a cactus, just to see if you're alive

Nobody's here to laugh
Nobody's here to care
Nobody's here to clap
Nobody's here to share

Waiting for the night, when your work is done
Waiting for the night, in that Arizona sun

Nobody's here to love
Nobody's here to be
Nobody's here to shove
Nobody's here to see
